Miraculous Structures in Nature

The fragile marrow in the bone. The structure and the colors. Fascinating.

Spirals of life

I find these bones on the beaches, thrown in the sand after bbq’s, cleaned by the salty water and the sun. Look what happens when you saw them in slices!

That beautiful structure of the marrow inside the bone! What a hidden treasure! If we only could look at people that way as well …

explanatory notes during exhibition:

Unbridled.
Self-willed.
Unrestrained.
It goes on and on.

Clams

explanatory notes during exhibition:

All those little growths.
On the sea bottom.
On that, in there.
Breathtaking.

Bridal Coral

explanatory notes during exhibition:

White, pure and tender.
Strong and fragile.
Full of confidence.
We must be careful with it!

Organic Orange Orgasm

necklace, object
porcelain, luster, glass beads, copper, swarovsky, fresh water pearls, linen
h 37 x w 28 x d 3,5 cm

This piece I made for an exhibition on the occasion of the inauguration of the Dutch king. Orange because that is the color of the Dutch royalties.

explanatory notes during exhibition:

Just like coral spawning,
that eruption of coral eggs.
May the inauguration
of the new king
be the overture to
many highlights
during his reign,
in organic interaction
with the people.

The underwater world is such an overwhelming stage with so many different decors. Corals, sea anemones, sea weeds, shells…
