Precious jewelry from non-precious materials

Reflecting on jewelry from ‘must have’ brands, industrial produced or even made with pre-fab pieces bought in developing countries, I made a series for an exhibition. They are made from inexpensive materials, but of course took quite some time to make them. I had the African kings with their beautiful decorating pieces in mind, all made by hand from found and recycled materials, with a lot of patience and dedication.
